Got a New Phone? How to Keep Access to Your DoorBird

Switching phones is one of the easiest ways to lose access to a DoorBird — especially if the admin login and QR “Digital Passport” only lived on the old device. A little prep keeps you in control.

Before you switch phones

  • Locate your DoorBird admin credentials and the QR / Digital Passport (paperwork or a saved photo) and store them somewhere safe.
  • Make sure you can sign in to the DoorBird app account — not just the app that’s already open on the old phone.
  • Don’t wipe or trade in the old phone until the new one is fully working.

Moving to the new phone

  • Install the DoorBird app and sign in with the same account.
  • Re-enable notifications and permissions on the new device.
  • Confirm live view, calls, and door/relay actions all work before retiring the old phone.

Already lost access?

If the password got lost in the transfer and you can’t sign in, you’re now in access-recovery territory. It’s fixable — here’s how DoorBird access recovery works, and our team can guide you through it.
